European futures bounce as China stimulus optimism persists

EUROPEAN FUTURES BOUNCE AS CHINA STIMULUS OPTIMISM PERSISTS
European futures are hinting at a bounce at the open, as stocks get a renewed boost on optimism around China stimulus.
Euro Stoxx 50 futures STXEc1 are 1.2% higher, while German DAX futures FDXc1 are up 0.8% and FTSE futures FFIc1 are up 0.7%.
Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday that China is considering injecting up to 1 trillion yuan ($142.39 billion) of capital into its biggest state banks to increase their capacity to support the struggling economy.
It follows Tuesday's news that saw China's central bank unveil its biggest stimulus since the pandemic.
Elsewhere, the market is awaiting an interest rate policy decision from the Swiss National Bank at 0730 GMT,with bets on a third consecutive rate cut - the question is by how much.
Eyes are still firmly on developments in Germany as the country cranked up its opposition on Wednesday to UniCredit's CRDI.MI move on Commerzbank CBKG.DE.
In earnings, the world's second-largest listed fashion retailer H&M HMb.ST said on Thursday it no longer expected to reach its full-year earnings margin goal, while reporting a lower-than-expected operating profit for the June-August period.
