TGS jumps on positive Q2 earnings, demand outlook
** Shares in Norwegian oil service group TGS TGS.OL rise 5.3%, with an analyst pointing to Q2 EBITDA beat when adjusting for one-offs related to the PGS merger
** TGS reports Q2 EBITDA of $121 million, about 5% below a company-provided consensus
** But Carnegie says that adjusted for one-offs related to the merger, the miss on EBITDA turns into a 5% beat
** The brokerage says the beat was driven by lower cost on goods sold in the Ocean Bottom Node area, and predicts slightly positive revisions to its EBITDA estimates
** Arctic Securities says Q2 EBIT was also above the broker's estimate driven by lower amortisation
** TGS says it expects demand for its products to continue to grow in both short and long term thanks to rising interest in renewable energy projects
