US Cash Crude-Grades fall as Libyan oilfields reopen

Oct 3 (Reuters) -U.S. crude grades traded lower on Thursday, dealers said, with more barrels set to enter the market in the near-future.

Libya's eastern-based government and Tripoli-based National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced on Thursday the reopening of all oilfields and export terminals after a dispute over the leadership of the central bank was resolved.

Libya was producing about 1.2 million barrels of crude per day before output at the Sharara, El Feel and Essider oilfields was halted in late August and early September. It was exporting most of it. In September, exports averaged 460,000 bpd according to oil analytics firm Kpler.

However, if Israel chooses to target Iranian oil infrastructure as hostilities intensify in the Middle East, this could cause bottlenecks in global crude flows, and support U.S. grades.

Iran is a member of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries with production of around 3.2 million barrels per day or 3% of global output.
