Oct 4 (Reuters) -Basis bids for soybeans and corn shipped by barge to the Gulf Coast eased on Friday, as the labor fight at the U.S. ports ended, traders said.

* U.S. East and Gulf coast ports were reopened on Friday after dockworkers and port operators reached a wage deal to settle the industry's biggest work stoppage in nearly half a century, but clearing the cargo backlog will take time.

* Archer-Daniels-Midland Co ADM.N is idling its only soybean processing plant in Iowa for weeks in the thick of a record U.S. harvest, the grain merchant told Reuters, tightening supplies of soymeal fed to livestock.

* The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Friday confirmed private sales of 198,000 metric tons of U.S. corn to undisclosed destinations for delivery in the 2024/25 marketing year that began Sept. 1.

* The USDA also confirmed private sales of 116,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans to China for delivery in the 2024/25 marketing year that began Sept. 1.

* CIF October soybean barges were bid 1 cent lower at 74 cents over Chicago Board of Trade's November soybean SX24 futures.

* FOB soy export premiums ticked down 1 cent for the first half of November at about 113 cents over futures. Last-half November offers also eased 1 cent, at about 113 cents over futures.

* CIF January corn barges traded at 72 cents over CBOT March CH25 futures.

* For corn, CIF barges loaded in October were bid down 1 cent at 70 cents over CBOT December CZ24 futures.

* FOB Gulf corn export basis were steady at about 110 cents over futures for first-half November shipments. Offers were also steady at 110 cents over for last-half November shipments.
