** Shares of PepsiCo Inc PEP.O down 0.6% at $166.97 on Mon ahead of soda and snack maker's Q3 results due Tues before the bell
** PEP shares, falling for fourth straight session, now down 1.7% YTD vs 13.5% gain in S&P 500 Consumer Staples .SPLRCS sector
** Co last week said it will buy Siete Foods for $1.2 bln, beefing up its snacking portfolio as consumers turn to more affordable private-label brands after recent price hikes by packaged food makers
** In Q2 report, PEP missed rev expectations on slowing sales mainly in the U.S., its largest market
** RBC ('sector perform', $176 PT) in preview note on Fri said expects PEP to report "modest" topline results and inline to slightly better EPS, with growth once again led by international side of the business
** Analysts on avg see PEP posting 1.5% yr/yr increase in rev of $23.8 bln and adj EPS of $2.29, up from $2.25 in yr-ago period, per LSEG data
** Of 23 analysts covering PEP, recommendation breakdown is 10 "strong buy" or "buy", 12 "hold" and 1 "sell" and their median PT is $185
** Stock trading at 19.6x NTM (next 12 months) earnings vs its two-year avg of 22.3x
** This compares to rival Coca-Cola's KO.N stock trading at ~23.4x forward earnings vs its two-year avg of 22.3x
